Save the Children launched its reading campaign in the United States, “100 Days of Reading,” to offer children fun ways to continue reading and studying, while helping to provide aid and resources to rural America’s most vulnerable children during this critical time.
From June 1 until September 8, 2021, International Literacy Day, Save the Children shared tips and activities on Instagram (@savethechildren) and on the SavetheChildren.org/READ to help ensure kids continue to be engaged in reading and stay active throughout the summer. In addition to offering activities, “100 Days of Reading” are helping feed the minds and bellies of the children growing up in rural America. Every link that is clicked or tapped by participants will help unlock donations of books, educational materials, and healthy food for 750,000 children living in some of America’s most impoverished rural communities – where Save the Children works every day to ensure children are getting the early learning and educational support they need to be successful in school and in life.
