The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Food Program (WFP) have entered into a global partnership to engage the business community and promote strategic partnerships at regional and national levels in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, Goal 2: Zero Hunger. Ending hunger and malnutrition are key elements in building lasting prosperity for all: this requires close collaboration between the private sector, national governments, local communities, and organizations such as WFP, focused on sustainable development. Representing 45 million companies worldwide, ICC will leverage its extensive network to share knowledge and facilitate strategic partnerships with private sector companies globally, regionally, and locally. Working closely with governments and local communities in 88 countries, WFP will channel the expertise of the private sector to build dynamic partnerships that together create systemic change. The partnership will also foster strategic partnerships between the ICC’s global network of chambers of commerce and WFP regional offices to support future food delivery and emergency assistance operations.
