Clean power sources set to extend their lead to reach 40% of global electricity generation in 2020 says the International Energy Agency (IEA). Renewable sources of electricity are projected to be the only energy source that will grow in 2020 amid falling power demand stemming from the global coronavirus pandemic, according to a new report from the IEA. After overtaking coal for the first time ever in 2019, renewables and low-carbon sources of electricity are predicted to extend their lead this year to reach 40% of global electricity generation.
