Gen Verde “Turns It Up” For Genfest Manila This July!

This July 2018, the International Female Band of the Focolare Movement, Gen Verde is coming to the Philippines. Below is a brief history of the band which is popular in Europe, especially in Italy.

Gen Verde is a group of musicians and performing artists with a distinctly international profile. The current line-up consists of 22 women from 15 different countries. The band’s original style of music has been evolving with the arrival of each new member. Gen Verde’s current concert includes rock and pop rock songs, often with an original twist influenced by the group’s own rich cultural and ethnic mix.

On its 50th birth anniversary, the international Gen Verde band has recorded “TURN IT UP!” “It is an invitation,” they said, “to raise the volume of unity.”

While its members have changed over the years, the values at the heart of Gen Verde’s artistic goal remain the same: to contribute towards creating a global culture of peace, dialogue and unity. The group began with the gift of a green drum set to a group of girls in the International Center of Loppiano in December 1966. Those drums became the symbol of a revolutionary lifestyle where shared talents could become key instruments for building unity in diversity.

Gen Verde offers their audiences a challenge and a solution: Change the world? Change yourself! Start now. Start here.
